A book is meant to be read and handled. The paper used as its pages need to be strong, flexible and long-lasting. The weight of the paper needs consideration ? it should be thin enough to fold easily, yet thick and opaque enough to reduce any show-through. Another important quality is abrasion resistance.

Because a book is handled so much, the surface of the paper must not pick up finger grease or dirt. If colored paper is used, the color must not rub off in handling, nor transfer onto other pages. It must be lightfast and not fade.

For centuries, France's Arches mill has created some of the world's most popular artist papers, for many different uses. Each paper is mouldmade of 100% cotton and bears a watermark unique to the individual grade.

Arches papers offer conservation quality, symbolized by the sign of infinity in the watermark of each (see watermarks below). High quality Arches papers offer both beauty and preservation to all those who depend upon paper to endure.

These papers are well-suited to most printmaking and drawing techniques.

Mouldmade of 100% cotton, Arches Cover is one of the world's most popular fine art printing papers. It features a lightly textured, cold pressed surface and a registered watermark. All sheets have four deckle edges.

Excellent for: Lithography, Intaglio, Silkscreen, Collotype and Drawing (particularly pastel).

This extraordinary surface also resists tearing and buckling and it remains perfectly flat. Neutral pH, lightly sized, 2 natural deckles, 2 tear deckles.
