Bertini papers sometimes include the use of powdered gold, which is unique to these papers. The sheets are produced by offset printing techniques. This process can include up to six colors plus the use of powdered gold which is added in the final printing stage and is unique to Bertini papers.

This exciting decorative paper is handmade in Portugal of thin layers of natural cork laminated to a coated, colored base paper. Corkskin is used for end papers, book covers as well as for many decorative purposes. It makes an interesting surface for silkscreening and rubber stamping. While the cork is neutral pH, the base paper is not. Cork, the outer bark of the cork oak tree, protects the tree throughout its nearly 500-year lifespan. A renewable, organically grown material, cork has been harvested for many centuries.
