The choice of paper on which you print your fine art is critical to the end result. Your selection will dramatically affect the quality of your final image. You?ve labored for many hours to create this special print ? shouldn?t it be printed on the finest paper available? At Legion, we think it should.

Some of the papers discussed below have been made for centuries. Others have been developed by Legion with the help of the world?s best fine art lithographers. If the integrity of the final print is your goal, then one of these papers should be your choice.

All of these papers are manufactured to the highest standards of longevity, including buffering with calcium carbonate. Each of the papers below is made from either 100% cotton rag or high alpha cellulose pulp and is created to meet the demands of the offset printing process. These papers vary in surface texture, from smooth to rough with many variations in between. Additionally, some of these papers are coated for additional ink holdout.

For centuries, France's Arches mill has created some of the world's most popular artist papers, for many different uses. Each paper is mouldmade of 100% cotton and bears a watermark unique to the individual grade.

Arches papers offer conservation quality, symbolized by the sign of infinity in the watermark of each (see watermarks below). High quality Arches papers offer both beauty and preservation to all those who depend upon paper to endure.

Mouldmade of 100% cotton, Arches Cover is one of the world's most popular fine art printing papers. It features a lightly textured, cold pressed surface and a registered watermark. All sheets have four deckle edges.

Excellent for: Lithography, Intaglio, Silkscreen, Collotype and Drawing (particularly pastel).

This extraordinary surface also resists tearing and buckling and it remains perfectly flat. Neutral pH, lightly sized, 2 natural deckles, 2 tear deckles.
