Ripe Point of View by Alyona Nickelsen, CPSA

Alyona Nickelsen, CPSA
Ripe Point of View
Paper: Stonehenge 250gsm White

Stonehenge paper is a key element in my Colored Pencil Painting technique. The unique way that I use Stonehenge helps me achieve the look of an oil painting using colored pencils.

Colored pencils allow me to have complete control of the medium and to show the finest details of my subjects. I leave the white of the paper for the brightest highlights possible in a composition. The multiple layers of colors give depth to dark backgrounds.

Alyona is teaching her technique to other artists in workshops across the United States and she is having a tremendous response. Also she is in the process of writing a book about her colored pencil technique.

Alyona's work has exhibited in more than 30 national and international shows (including the Salmagundi Club, Allied Artists of America, American Artists Professional League, Colored Pencil Society of America, etc.) and have won 16 awards in the past two years.
