Silk Tissue
Description
Although this paper is not made of silk it does have somewhat of "silky" feeling, it is an extremely thin, lightweight (10gsm), shiny and quite translucent.
This off white, neutral pH tissue is machinemade in Japan from 100% gampi (one of the strongest plant fibers) and because of its strength and translucency it is suitable for several fine art & conservation applications, including:
An excellent overlay and interleaving sheet for art prints
Perfect for mending fine art prints that are torn or have worn surfaces
Great conservation box lining for archival storage of valuable artifacts.
Lastly, as odd as it may seem used in the optical industry as eyeglass tissue cleansers (will not scratch or damage lenses).
